13. You are in a plane crash in the Andes Mountains, not unlike those people from the movie Alive. As such, you will be forced to consume the human flesh of the people who died on impact; this will be a terrible experience but it is the only way for you to survive. Fortunately, you did not know any of the victims personally.
Would you rather eat a dead baby, or would you rather eat a dead elderly person? Would you gender play a role in your selection process? And how much would it bother you if this meat turned out to be delicious?
Oh gawd. Meat at the best of times can wigg me out. As gross as this is, I'd eat the baby first...ah crap, no..Id just die. The reason I'd pick the baby is that the elderly person is bound to be grosser, full of ickies and most likely cancer and old gross fat. Old ppl often dont have much muscle. A baby can look like a turkey (bad joke). I dont know!! again...eew! Gender? I'd be more inclined to eat a man - but hold on, not for any other reason than because men have more muscle (ie. more food for the effort) than women. Im sure the fact that Im a woman plays into that decision someplace, but its not at the top of my mind.
If it turned out to be delish? I cant imagine it would be that good. Meat on its own I rarely find that good. it can be satisfying, but its all about the preparation or spice/sauce. Considering this is a eat raw meat deal, even if it tasted good, I'd still be gagging. I cant even imagine the possibility of it being great. If I did love it, I'd still eat sparingly and respectively and leave it at that.
14. Is there any widespread practice more futile than attempting to predict society's future relationship with technology?
There prob are lots - there are whole academic fields that are completely futile. There are so many I cant rhyme them off. Is predicting future relationships with technology futile? I think that's the question. Its not as futile as all that - it drives development/research and can make some big changes/impacts not to mention money. Prediction of economic drivers is not bad. Jobs? Training? cumman, thats way more useful than pondering some obscure aspect of say, theology
