So, a friend died..I posted a note on her facebook profile wall...next thing I know Im being quoted in the Ottawa Sun without notification. Legal? Maybe - given the public nature of Facebook. Ethical? Would have liked to know before hand I was being quoted. Tasteless? Yep. The entire artical on April is a product of what she chose to post about herself on Facebook. At least the Citizen just contacted people on her friends list and gave them the opportunity to comment or not. I know we sign our privacy away when having an open profile on the site or posting on someones public wall, but does that licence my full name being blabbed in the Sun?
